2014 Outstanding Student Awards

The coordinators wanted to honor the students and teachers for their work throughout the school year. “Our students and teachers put in so much work each year we decided it was time to recognize everyone for their dedication,” said High School High Tech Coordinator Brittany O’Grady.

Over 100 students and teachers piled into the University of North Florida’s ballroom to celebrate. All students were given an award for completion. Students with high GPA’s were also recognized, and a Above and Beyond Award was given to students selected by the coordinators.

Winners of the Above and Beyond include:

1. First Coast High School: John Wilkes

2. Nathan B. Forrest High School: Malic Graham

3. Oakleaf High School: Sarah Eddins

4. Clay High School: Jessica Ingram

5. Alden Road Exceptional Center: Jarrett Humphreys

6. Englewood High School: Nancy Nappi

7. Mandarin High School: Tatiana Saldarriaga

8. Edward White High School: Camara Denson

9. Douglas Anderson School of the Arts: Jillian Parsons

Once the students received their awards, everyone ate lunch and had the opportunity to dance. University of North Florida, student Sonny Kadric DJ’d the event with upbeat songs that got people on their feet.

The event would not have been possible without the help of our Ready To Achieve Mentor, Lauren Arias and our volunteer Ronnie Simon Jr.

High School High Tech Coordinator, Deidra Simon said she could not be happier with the turn out of the event. “The ceremony was a complete success, everyone had a blast and most importantly the students and teachers were recognized for their hard work. We can’t wait to do it again next year.”
