COMMUNITY IMPACT
At the Independent Living Resource Center, services are available to all 209,475 people with a disability in northeast Florida.
Since our founding in 1978, our mission has been empowering children, adults and seniors to achieve their goals for independent living. As a community leader for disability rights, we constantly work to fight stigmas through education, break barriers through advocacy and expand opportunity through service provision.
Employment
Last year, the Independent Living Resource Center provided 803 vocational services for persons with disabilities.
Education
Last year, the Independent Living Resource Center provided 602 youth transition services.
Access
Last year, the Independent Living Resource Center provided 98 advocacy services, 298 assistive technology services, and 103 personal assistance services.
Information and Referral
Last year, the Independent Living Resource Center provided 3,199 information and referral services to connect persons with disabilities to community agencies.

Empowering our Next Generation
The ILRC Youth Advisory Council is made of 13-17 members of our community with disabilities between the ages of 13-25. The Council's goals are to increase creativity, confidence and independence, build teamwork and cooperation, develop conflict resolution, time management and organization skills and build communication, public speaking and negotiation skills.
