ILRC program Brooks TLC receives community award

On Friday, May 29th, the Brooks Temporary Loan Closet (TLC) received the WJXT Channel 4 News “Positively Jax” award. Positively Jax is a partnership between Channel 4 and Memorial Hospital to recognize people, organizations and businesses that make a positive impact in the Jacksonville community.

RS&H builds custom costume for Team Hayden

A story of how one company changed the definition of costume to support a local boy with special needs. "A few weeks ago, I saw a video online about a father who created Halloween costumes for his children in wheelchairs. I had just finished spending around 10 hours creating my own Halloween costume this year and thought “why not do something similar for a child with special needs here in Jacksonville?”"

National tour bus stops at The ILRC

The Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC) will welcome the ADA Legacy Tour bus on Friday, November 13th. The ADA Legacy Tour bus was designed to raise awareness and build excitement about ADA25 – the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which was July 26, 2015.

Abilities in Art

This Saturday, the Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC) will pair art and awareness for its third annual Abilities in Art project at the Riverside Arts Market. The project raises awareness of persons living with physical disabilities in the Jacksonville community.
