Ann Griner-Hage recently graduated from the University of North Florida with her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. She is working towards becoming a professional photographer.

Like most millennials her age she is having trouble finding work. “I haven’t been able to experience many jobs, so I don’t even know what I want to do,” said Griner-Hage. Part of this struggle comes from the fact that she is deaf.

Hage-Griner is a determined young woman with a message for her community. “I want to bridge the gap between the hearing community, and the deaf community. I CAN work hard, just like anyone else,” said Griner-Hage.

Ann has set out to prove herself by attaining an internship with Jacksonville photographer, Tiffany Manning.

During her internship experience Ann will shadow and assist Tiffany as she goes on shoots around the city. The internship will give Ann a better idea of exactly what a photographer does on a daily basis.

“I love to travel, and I love to take pictures of foreign places and people, but I’m really want to learn all that I can from this internship,” said Ann. Ideally, Ann would like to use her love of art and photography to bridge the gap between the hearing world and the deaf community.

“In the hearing world there is not enough exposure to the deaf community, I would like to change that,” said Ann.

Tiffany Manning is one of a few different companies in the Jacksonville area working to hire the very capable and hard working individuals in the disability community.
